race in stock with rear sway bar?

I have a 2006 ZX3 S. It didn't come with a rear sway bar. If I change over the rear cross member and add in a sway bar (all OEM Ford parts) can I still race in Solo 2 stock?

( I have a feeling I won't like the answer, but I'll ask anyway.)

Thanks

Nope... about the only thing you can do in stock class is change the shocks.

but... if you don't care about being competitive in any particular class, a rear sway bar is a huge improvement.

Unless a rear sway bar was an option on the model you have, the answer is no. In stock class, you can only change out the front sway bar. The rear sway bar must be exactly as offered by the manufacturer for your model.

The only way you can stay in HS with the swaybar is if you added everything that would make it an SES model. Meaning you would have to get the 16" wheels, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, etc...

From the 2006 SCCA rulebook:
Quote:
Option package conversions may be performed between specific
vehicles of a particular make and model, but only between
configurations from within a particular model year. Such
conversions must be totally complete and the resultant car must
meet all requirements of this Section. Alternate parts listed in a
factory parts manual are not authorized unless their use is
specifically referenced in the factory service manual or in a service
bulletin for the specific model.
