Red face svt's first day at the track

well guys went to the local 1/8 mile track tonight. lets say that i was happier than i thought i would be. i was running low 10's all night. whats a good 60 ft time? just for bragging rites i killed a v6 cougar 3 x's, a civic, and my pride of the night eclispe gt-s. i got crushed by a camaro z28 and a civic running straight drags tires and 20 lbs of boost on a t3 turbo. this guy jacked my ass up.

On my best run, I had a 2.29 60' time. This seems to be a good track for traction, air temps were in the 70's, and the track is almost at sea level. I don't know how the 60' time compares, but the e.t. compares well with most of the other stock SVT's that have posted their 1/4 mile times.

it depends on the driver and really, the car! horsepower and torque can vary from car to car from the factory. BTW motortrend did a 15.4 in a 5 door.

That bog sounds like the traction control kicking in. As an experiment, try pulling your ABS fuse. It's possible that your tune hasn't actually disabled your traction control. If I pull my fuse, I am more concerned about uncontrolled wheel spin than bog.

As far as going faster than specs, many of the magazines will not do 100% effort launches when they test. Owners willing to push it (and I was) can often beat the test times listed in magazines.

On the run I list on my signature my 1/8 et was 9.9 @ 71.8mph.

i really think you can adjust to wheel spin easier than the crazy ass bog the svt gives. if youre getting too much spin, back off the throttle.

every .1 in the 60' makes for a .2 difference at the end of a quarter.
