Need New Brake Pads!!!

When i went to get an oil change the other day the guy at the shop was turning the wheels and could here things rubbing, so when he took them off he noticed that my brake pads were really low and you need to be replaced withint 1000 miles. Haha i find it funnny b/c i only have 12miles on the car so it seems alittle premature to me, considering i dont do any type of racing. Neway i know theres alot out there and i could just pick up some prostop brake pads for like 10 or 15 bucks, but i want something that is better then stock. I was thinking about EBC Greenstuff brakes pads, and i want something with little or no dust. I know hawk makes good brake pads too but how do they compare the the EBCs and what other brands are out there. Also i dont want to spend a ton of money but i still want something that will improve stopping power, cut down brake dust and most importantly, last me more then 12k miles b/c i dont wanna pay above average for brake pads and have them wear out quickly.

i would hope so with 12 miles on it

I've told this story many times but here we go again.

On my mothers 99 Ford Taraus SE, the Front pads would go bad and need to be replaced twice a year and the rotors, atleast once a year. Once we installed Powerslot Rotors and Hawk Pads, we've yet to change the pads out on this car. It's been 3 years atleast now. My mother doesn't speed, nor did i in that car.

Have the same on my focus and it's been over a year and i haven't had any problems what-so-ever. Less Brake Dust, no squeel and look a lot better than the stockers.

^^^yea i meant 12k miles not 12. Neway can anyone else give me some info, especially people who have ebc brake pads, i wanna know if they are good and worth paying the extra money for....i think the hawks are cheaper. Also if i go with the hawk pads which ones should i get. And i dont think im getting new rotors yet, if they dont need to be replaced im not going to spend money on them.

i dunno about ebc stuff, but from searching the forums they seem to give off alot of dust, the general consensus is hawk hps, which I will be ordering before I get my svt kit in next week, I'm gonna give the stock svt rotors a chance

I've had my Hawk HPS pads for about a year now, and they are much better than stock. Improved braking, much less dust and they are lasting fairly well. I had them installed @ about 15k, and at my 30k service, the service writer said I had about 50% left on them. That is with 3 track events last year - where they performed very well.
