Stress Bar Plus Volant? Will It Work?

Just a quick question for everyone here.

Will the FocusSport front stress bar (from newedgeperformance.com) fit on my car if I have a Volant CAI installed?

I drive a 2001 Street Edition Sedan with the 2.0L Zetec.

Thanks for the help!

I've heard yes and no. I think it's a tight fit without the ram air kit, and it won't fit with the ram air kit. Not 100% sure though, so don't sue me if I'm wrong.

Will the two parts coexist? Yes. Will the Volant still fit properly? That's a matter of opinion. There are a few people on here running both the strut bar and Volant (I think S2 is one of them).

I didn't like how the two fit together, the Volant had to sit cocked at a slight angle and was wedged in pretty tight. Considering that the front strut bar really doesn't do much (if anything), I chose not to run the two together.

I'd save your $40 and spend it on something else. Only my opinion though. and...yes there is a strut bar on my car now... and... no... I don't think it does a damn thing.

^^^^^^^

Irony strikes again. I'll let you know how the Volant is when I finally put it on my car. THanks again for all your help!

I've had the FOCUS CENTRAL strut brace and the VOLANT and it fits. The VOLANT airbox is tilted slightly forward for it to fit but it does fit and does work together.

I'm not sure about the FOCUSSPORT one though, I'm going to assume the design is very similar but I know for a fact that you can use it with the FC one.

One thing you CAN'T use is the VOLANT SCOOP with a strut brace as the box is angled forward as mentioned and the scoop requires the box to lay flat.

I noticed you don't have the Volant Intake Tube like i do on mine. Parton the Mess, but it was snowy out when i installed the Volant. It's (was) new!

And yes it SHOULD fit. I have a FC and mine fits. I noticed mine rubs the Volant Box from time to time, but nothing i'm worried about.
