The History of my Focus (pics and videos)

Well guys I am here to show you a brief history of my focus. I drive a 2004 2.3L lx sedan (base model ). This sums up my first year of modding, and I have not yet decided if there will be a full second year of modding. It is possible that I may buy a new car soon.

Now there is nothing super special about this car, but I have taken my time to do it the way I believe is right. If I had $15k to throw away this thing might just have a v8 in it, but I can't.

Total spending in modifications to this car is about $3,000.

If you would like to see the nicest pictures of the current car, just scroll to the bottom, otherwise you can read about my car's history.

January, 2004. The car is stock and brand new. I got the cheapest one I could get. As advertised in the newspaper: Sedan, mtx, cassette player, manual windows and locks, no AC. At about 2,600 lbs this puts my little lx in favor of performance over some of the more "loaded" foci.

January, 05'

First Mod: MM CAI
Nice choice, and a cheap 10 horsepower

February, 05'

Second mod: A big step backwards. It has since been replaced.

Obx muffler with custom 2.25" piping. Crush bent. Crap.

March, 05'

SVT upper grille, SVT headlights and Euro Lower grille installed.

June, 05

The can had to come off. I wanted a better look, better sound, and more power!

Installed a Trubendz 2.5" flexback exhaust w/magnaflow muffler

HEAR IT!(exaust videos below)

Summer, 05'

Time to stop messing around and get some real modding done. I finished off my summer by installing an Eibach Sportline system and 17X7" Voxx Mg wheels with 215/40-17 Hankook Ventus HRII tires. I also got window tint 45% front and 15% rear.

Before drop/tint

After the drop:

And now some pics with the wheels:

January, 06'
Installed an SCT Tune by Focus Sport

Some Night pics

Car Wash

Now compared to stock:

February, 06.

I get a new FC 65mm Throttle Body and my focus meets a giant...

At the Playground

More pics:

The house on the left belongs to the owner of a big McDonalds franchise. I know the guy personally (worked for him) and I know somewhere in there he has a Porsche 911 Turbo, Ferrari 360 spider, z06, and some other goodies stored away in there.

His daily driver of choice: A Focus Wagon.

So yes he owns expensive sports cars and does not drive them. What a waste!

Now just relaxing during a nice afternoon, looking back at the busy city. This is my hometown, and this is my favorite spot overlooking San Diego. You can see a lot more when there visibility is better.

San Diego, CA

Then engine as it is today:

That is all. Thanks for taking a look at my pictures.

Here is a list of my mods:

Power:
Trubendz 2.5" flexback exhaust w/magnaflow muffler
MM Cold Air Intake
FC Throttle BOdy
Focus Sport SCT tune

Suspension:
Eibach Sportline Springs
Eibach Pro Dampers
FC Front strut bar

Brakes:
Hawk HPS pads

Wheels/Tires:
17X7" Voxx mg
215/40-17 Hankook Ventus HRII HT04

Interior:
Sony mp3 player
URP shift knob
FR floor mats
SVT pedals

Exterior:
SVT Focus headlights
SVT Focus upper grille
Euro Focus lower grille
Shortened factory antenna
Window tint 45% front, 15% rear
Debadged rear
Mazda "2.3" badge

I got no AC because I was in high school working at McDonalds, and didn't have much money. My parents gave me $7500 to get a car. I paid the rest. I wanted a new car but not a KIA This car was advertised in the newspaper for a bottom line price of $9,300, so I took it. I can live without the AC. It never gets too hot here in San Diego.

This is my first car, and my first project. I think I am off to a decent start.

I think you are off to a great start. I have a white sedan Lx too, but mine came with a/c. Those 1st pics of your car made me think of mine when mine was stock. You have done yours very tastefully, and I give you props for that.

I'm curious to see what the dash looks like with no A/C! Or does it still have knobs with no functions?

Anyway, the car looks amazing. 100 times better than it was originally.
