Attn: 06 owners wanting a Steeda STS

I got one in and on it SOOOO great, BUT the only problem is since they are made for 02-05. So those models had the reverse lockout and under the shift knob is a spring, on the 06 the reverse LO was deleted. So you can run around without the spring in there and use it just fine (still needs to be pulled up to go to reverse) but it will rattle. I will be going to ford to get a spring this week.

Just letting you know
Jon

dude, let me know how much this spring is and stuff like that. I too have the STS.
Edit, if you go to a junk yard looking for this spring, PM me and let me know. If you get 2, I'll buy one off you.

You dont NEED the spring but I am OCD about my car so 12.00 is nothing.

Actually you don't need the spring, just cut off the plastic slide under the shift linkage (eye) on the shifter and take off the two tabs on there also and your in business. If you have an '06 you have to reuse the plastic (spacer) under the shift knob and use the polished shifter cover that comes with it. Make sure you use the zip tie provided to reattach the boot. Other than that, this thing is AMAZING!!!

For 12 bucks I can just get the spring and be done with it.
