Advice On Good Sports Exhuast

I'm wanting to get a nice sounding sports exhuast for my 1.8Ltr Focus 02 I don't want something that is overly loud just a nice sports tone.

You would if you posted in the correct section lol

I moved your thread to the Zetec Performance chat area.

I'm assuming you have the 1.8l Zetec since your in Australia and well have a 1.8l.

We wouldn't know what exhaust you have available there. What I can tell you is, you will most likely want a exhaust that has two mufflers on it instead of one. Most who get an exhaust become very tired of it, specifically after putting a header on the car and getting rid of the cat, this is where the second muffler comes into play as it tones it down some like the cat did.

Check out the sticky threads at the top of the forum area they have a lot of great info and probably have the next question your going to be asking, if you don't see an answer then feel free to ask.

Sorry mate get confused as to were to open threads sometimes.

I would need to keep the cat in cause our laws state they must stay in or the car is taken off the road etc. So I would be looking at from the cat back system.

Yep I have the 1.8Ltr Zetec 16v engine with 5 speed manual.

If I can get in idea of what you guys have like tube size muffler types etc I should be able to get something similar here.

our exhaust pipe diameters range from 2.25", 2.5", and 3".

Here in the states folks in states with strict emissions swap over to the SVT focus header, cat, and flex pipe to keep things legal. Though that's not an option in all states, in some you can't even do that, like California for example.

2.5" sounds about right for our V6 & V8's here so I would assume 2.25" would be the choice for the Focus.

Well... That's a whole different argument full of opinions. Most if not all of us get the 2.5" and it has even been proven that a full 3" exhaust will work as well but that was on a SVT focus.

Hmmm ok 2.5" is the common size guys ask for here in Australia so maybe I will stick with the 2.5" option so that leaves me with what mufflers to get we do have the 2 muffler standard set up on our Focus's as well.

I just want to be armed with good info as my brother works at an exhaust shop and I don't want him telling me what I should have and end up with a system I don't like.
