yeah they do the OBD II test here and only do visual for cars 95 and older. They just instated it this year which really sucks. I really want to get a header and heard that you must get a hiflow cat or else the stock cat gets too hot from the header.

Yeah they read what the comp tells them from what I understand so I might pass but if they ever make visual part of it then i would probably be screwed.

Yes. You'll need a MIL Eliminator or "O2 Cheater", which will trick the computer to think the CAT still exist.

im thinking about using an ORP because they dont check for emmissions around here at all..............the only thing is is it worth the extra volume of the exhaust????????? What kind of gains should i expect???

when i am lookin for a cat converter

when i am lookin for a cat converter

when i am lookin for a new hi flow cat. converter sence i have a after market exhaust that is 2.25 do i still search for focus cat. coverter or do i search for high flow cat converters that saw 2.25 what do i do im so confused lol

my friend said that you can put a high flow cat on a set of race headers. has n e one done it on a focus..they did it on other cars so i assum u can do it on a focus as well. or would it be simpler to get shorty headers and a high flow cat and save the trouble.

This thread is back from the dead...lol.
Anyway, I too have a question. If you use a shorty and a hi flow cat (or SVT race header with high flow), would the car pass emissions. Where I live, they don't use the OBDII port (I don't think), they actually analyze the exhaust coming out of the pipe with their own machines instead of trusting the ECU. Would a high flow cat still be able to pass?
