I have over 211K on mine and all i do is regular maintenance and replace stuff as needed.
And when you have one problem fix it asap or deactivate the system till you get it fixed. Will save you money in the long run.

No major problems other than the AC system dying out on me.
Only drive it hard when I have to.

I have a 210k zetec wagon that has plenty of power in it. I'm not the original owner so I'm not sure what they did for maintanace but it has very few issues. My A/C is also getting weak, but what do you expect for a 10 year old car.

Do you know if the timing belt has been changed? If not I would do that, flush the tranny, and coolant system.

Timing belt and associated tensioner, idler are due to be changed at 120K. If plugs and wires are still original replace those. Air and fuel filters and pcv valve. Check hoses and serp belt for cracks or signs of wear.

Most here probably drive their focus harder than the average commuter. Most here also likely maintain their focus better too.

My Zetec is at exactly 136,000 miles.

All i do is the maintnance like oil changes every 3000 miles and flush the tranny fluid every 50,000 miles and change the plugs and wires at about 50,000-60,000 miles

Just doing the bare minimum on your car will make it last. i was at a shop the other day and a guy had 357,879 miles on his zetec motor it was a zx3.
