well the svt header kit is out now on mcnews so i was wondering would this give me a better gain than goin with a shorty, either way im gettin a hi-flo cat and a bigger flexpipe and im switchin from my hks(i kno its sad that at one time i thought it was cool to put a jap exhaust on a focus) to a trubendz borla with 2.25 piping.

The SVT header kit from mcnews is about the best long tube header on the market.

Its designed by cosworth and is stainless steel.

A long tube header removes the cat, a shorty retains the cat. Big difference in power.

got a question

i would like to stay emmision legel so does that mean i have to go with a shorty header...

i have heard that puting the stock svt header works good with the zx3 is this true ...

if i go with the shorty headers will i have to go with high flow cat coverter and with this all will i be able to add a resonator to help keep the noise down ?????

please post back

Any long tube header will make it louder, to make it quiet you have to choose the right catback the focus sport and a race header is a good combo. But if you want the quiets exhaust the would have to be the apexi world sport that with a race header is just as loud as a stock car.

time to bring this thread back from the dead......... the svt header/kit from mcnews(i haven't even checked yet to see if they still carry it)....are there any legal issues or smog issues? i live in friggin california....... i have the pipercross viper intake now (i've heard THAT isn't even legal- but at least it's not too much to swap out when i need to) and was planning to add fs long tube/fs flex/fs stealth......... i am just gonna assume it'll fail smog (it becomes an issue next january)....... so will the svt kit me in the clear? or is it an off road kit that merely utilizes an svt header?
