Exclamation svt suspension swap

i have a 02 zx3 (77k) i was reading some of the post here about suspension, i think i need to change my suspension cause the tire shop said that i need all 4 struts so i was thinkin of puttin the svt suspension, would i need any thing else other then the spring & struts n rear bar to do the swap, also i was reading about this guy(http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75190[/URL] ) that has problems with tire wear "tread wears out faster on inside of tires" and i have the same problem n i already did three 4-wheel alignment but it didnt fix the problem so if i get the svt suspension would it fix the problem? maybe is time to change the suspension....would it be better to take the car to ford dealer to get an alignment?
what suspension would be best for 18" wheels

Always get a second opinion. If you went at the same place for the 3 alignment jobs, go to another place that is qualified to do it and have a fourth one done (worn shocks should not mess your alignment). If you went to diffrent places, maybe your car has been damaged in the past (wreck, accident, road hazards). If so, go to a frame master's shop that will be able to verifie if your car is straight or not. Get your car straight before doing any suspension mods 'cause it would mess things up for finding the source of the problem. Maybe your car isn't worth it if it's crooked and can't be fix.

When you're certain your car's straight, get the kit you're talking about. It's about 250-300$ and will drop your car about .5 inch and yes, it's all that you need : shocks, springs and an alignment (yes, another one) after the install!

Good luck buddy. Hope this helps you.

^^^^ i agree with what he said. it might not be worth fixing. BTW, you need the springs too for the SVT suspension swap. i don't know what else, i don't know everything about suspension to tell you the truth.

you should probably post this in the suspension section

Moved to ”Wheels, Tires, Brakes & Suspension”...

I'm confused...
You have an SVTF or not? (says SVT in your signature)

I agree with the earlier comments about getting a "second opinion".
Make sure the car is straight and aligned correctly before throwing parts at it.

^^^ That's what I am wondering, do you have a regular zx3 or an svt zx3? But yeah get a second opinion, not all places are completely honest, even though we would like to think they are.

Get the SVT Suspension kit from Ford Racing. For $275.00 you can't bet the deal.
You'll get 4 dampers, 4 springs and a rear anti-sway bar.
Check to see if your model has sway bar mounts in the rear, if not Ford Racing sell a new rear sub-frame member with the mounts or you could make your own.
After the kit is installed get a 4-wheel alignment and camber adjustment from the dealer. You won't be disappointed. Add the Strut Tower Brace and your little ZX3 will rock.

The SVT kit can be had for as low as 245.00 if you look around a little. You didn't mention if the tire wear problem was with front or rear tires. Rear tire inside wear is the biggest complaint because the camber doesn't have much adjustment latitude and Ford knows this. They have a fix, shorter upper control arms but these are pricey. A cheaper fix for the rear are camber bolts at about 25 to 30 bucks a pair. Don't overlook toe settings as well. Moderate toe in and camber can really chew up tires quickly. Your alignment tech should be able to tell you which setting (toe or camber) is maxed out or he can't get into spec. If he can't tell you go somewhere else. Ford's specs are very broad and being at the outer "allowed" limits for camber will cause tire wear.
