Manual Tranny Problem

I searched this forum, but couldn't find a problem similar to mine, so here goes:

2001 ZX3 5spd - around 20k miles I changed the tranny fluid to TORCO synthetic. Car has driven great, until about 2 months ago. Just at throttle tip-in (I have the FC 65mm TB) the car "bucks " back & forth quite noticeably, in all gears, especially when using cruise control, going downhill - the computer will try to maintain speed right between no throttle and slight throttle tip-in. The car shakes back & forth badly. Car now has 50k on it.

Decided to change the fluid to regular Dexron ATF. As I drained the TORCO, it was dark grey with a silver streak, which of course is fine metal particles. I drives better now, but there is some damage done. When I had the car jacked up, and the tranny in 1st, I was able to move the tire about 45 degrees, which seems excessive.

So 2 questions. What is wrong with my tranny (I would guess differential), and what the hell good is synthetic fluid if this is the result?

The bucking may be the TB, check to make sure it isn't sticking slightly or to see if it has a small air leak.
The Ford tranny fluid is pricey, but for once I actually went with Ford on a fluid, it is pricey ($17) but the color and feel are VERY odd so I stayed with their stuff this time.
