Cabin air filter

Are you aware that your US Focus has a system to filter outside air that enters your cabin?
However, US cars come w/o the filter element. It is easly purchased and installation is under the hood near the fire wall.

I have an installed my cabin filter. I wasn't all the upset that they didn't put one in. I wonder if on newer foci they put them in?

thanks Infra3sv for the installation link. I knew the link existed but forgot where it was.
Didn't know the topic had been discussed on the SVT forum.

I guess I'll have to check to see if I have it or not.

I wouldn't have known or thought of it if it wasn't for my brother. He's a car nut and reads up on everything, specially since I have a focus, he checks out things about it for me from time to time. He's the one that bought my first one to put in for me, of course I paid him back for it. It's almost time for my second one. Supposed to replace them every 15k. I was late on putting mine in. Didn't do it until 7k. I will say this, it was a bitch to take off the cowl grill cover. Hope I have better luck doing it next time, but doubt it specially since the jerks at the dealer put caulk all around it when they replaced it.

I have an '03 and didn't have one. I'm not really mad that they didn't put one in, I just think it would have been a good idea.

It pisses me off that there's a spot for it and a part but the bubble doesn't come with it. Its almost as if Ford screwed up on the assembly line.
