exhaust

I just ordered an exhaust for my car. And i want to go turbo. a shop will make me a whole kit, but the exhaust i got is 2.25 will i still be able to go turbo and if so how much psi can i put out without getting compressor surge

ive seen cars with 2.25" exhausts pushing 280BHP fly wheel from a CA18det, i dont know about how much PSI. people say 3" exhaust flows enough for 600BHP, but then it depends on the engine size.

Your probably safe with 5-8 psi. It should be fine but you won't get as much horsepower as if you had a 2.5" exhaust.

If you can get it done ...3" is the way to go with a turbo, the bigger the exhaust pipe the quicker the spool and the better the flow.

Sure you can go turbo with a 2.25". I've run 20psi at times with mine. I never got any surge.
You get what you get Hp wise.
When you can put the bigger exhaust on, DO IT!
