Ford Edge!!!!

I just went to the Ford site and they have the new 07 Edge available to build....its sorta like when the fusion was just coming out and you can build it as well as see future options it will have, that sorta thing. Anyway i think this is pretty damn nice, i dont know for some reason it reminds me of an Infinite FX.....oh i love that little suv lol. But here are some details.

The Edge is schedualed to be out in late 06 just like most of the other 07 models. It will come in two trim packages, a SE which starts at $27,220 and a SEL which starts at $28,860. Both trims can come in either awd or fwd. AWD adds about 1500 to the base price of each trim. They have a wide range of colors to choose from which you can check out by going to the site. Options are the usually things leather seating, heated seats, power seats, side impact airbags, 6 disc cd changer etc etc. Some of the interesting options are the Panoramic Power sun roof and the option of sirius satellite radio with 6mos prepaid...not sure if any satilite radio has been offered on any ford models yet.

Future options:
-Bluetooth hands free phone
-voice activated navigation system
-20 inch wheels, 110V AC outlet...oo 110 lol.
-Interior Apperance package which comes with red leather seats, red stiching, brush aluminum and a special instrument cluster color, not sure if its the same is in the nwew mustang.
- LED Interior Mood lighting
-Ground Effects kit, which includes front and rear lower fascia, side skirts and a unique spoiler.

I really want to like the Edge, but I just don't like the styling at all - looks like an egg on wheels. It also seems overpriced to me.

I like it!! I would never need something like that at this point in time, but if I did I would certainly look into buying it!

I'd guess it's more of a Pacifica competitor... but WHY???? It's not like there are droves of people out there purchasing new SUV's or crossover SUV's. I did catch a glimpse of a Nissan Murano window sticker some yuppie bought....15/22... as I remember.

Nothing with 20" wheels is going to get great fuel economy.. unless it's a total dog around town or has a torque centered motor like a diesel.

In that price range, if I were shopping Ford, I would go with the Mustang over the Edge, or save some money and get a Fusion. But that's because I don't need an SUV, nor do I really want one.
