Ok i am about to do this mod when i get my car out of the shop, hopefully tommorow! So do you thread it all the way down, then cut it? or do you cut it and only thread what u need?

1.
Thread down about 1inch past where you want to cut.
Then after you're done cutting, you can screw the knob on.

2.
I took the console off but people say you can just take of the peice in the center around the shifter. It's up to you how you want to attacked cutting the shifter.
Either way will work.
