Hard to shift

Lately the svt has been giving me trouble when I first start her up. She doesnt want to go into gear at all and I have to muscle and massage it into second usually because it refuses to go into first. This happens both when it is cold(early morning) but also mid day when its a decent temperature. It only happens though on the very first start up, after that it is back to normal. She only started acting up a couple days ago so I am wondering what could cause this? Do you guys have any ideas on what is going on?

When I think of CA, I think of warm temperatures... cold there is what, 40 degrees? j/k

Not too sure how cold it really is, but I never had any issues with shifting and it gets below zero here in WI and my car sits outside all day long. Maybe remove the center console and grease up the shifter and see if that helps... It might help, but maybe something is binding up along the way.
Give the toughest job to the laziest man and he'll find the easiest way to get it done.
