Perimeter Alarm

New to the boards. Does anyone know how to disconnect the perimeter alarm system. I recently moved from Arizona to Indiana and the alarm constantly goes off after locking the doors for no reason. I can't lock my doors anymore and I do not have any documentation for the alarm. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

is this a factory system? i havent read the fordtech books on this unit but assume its under the same computer as this hack

http://www.focushacks.com/index.php?modid=25

However it was very little cars that normally have this security feature (OEM permeter alarm) 90% of the time this is a aftermarket install, in which case you need to find your valet button and disable the aftermarket alarm (i cant help with the locations or how to do this with out knowing the alarm)

If the dealer installed it, make them fix it. Also, wher in Indy are you? We lived there for 12 yrs, before moving to MI. We always had great experiences with Pearson Ford. What model Focus do you drive.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I am taking it to an alarm dealer, they told me it is probably a loose wire or sensor. By the way, I live on the NE side of Indy in Fishers and I drive an SE ZX4. Thanks for help everyone.

I just saw this thread. Did you buy the car new, and was it a Ford alarm? If so, the alarm should be warrantied. I checked with my local Ford accessories supplier to verify it. If the alarm was installed during the original warranty period, it is covered for the balance of the original 3/36 warranty 100%. After that, the parts have a lifetime warranty for the original owner. You would just have to pay for labor at the dealer.

Just an update for you, the Ford dealer here in Indy called the dealer I bought my car from in Arizona and it is a Ford alarm. So they will fix it under the warranty. Thanks again for the advice.

If it is the one that came from the factory?? If you push the lock button once, it locks the door. Twice arms the alarm.

I would assume this is aftermarket since he said the dealer installed it and it's a perimiter system which no stock alarm system I've ever know of has had. Best bet would be to take it into a shop that installs auto starts/alarms and have them disconnect it. All it is, is a box that will probably be zip-tied under the dash, you could probably just disconnect it actually assuming there will probably only be two small boxes under the dash (one being the shock sensor for the alarm) if all the car has is an aftermarket alarm and the perimiter system.
