Need to get rid of traction control.
Ok, I read on here a while ago about a traction control kill switch, but I couldnt find the thread again. Who's selling it, and for how much? And, as an alternative, do any of the tunes out there disable the traction control completely?

Well, there are 2 options. As stated above you could get a tune which will run you between $350 - $500 or a $5 - $40 TC kill switch depending if you buy one or make one. A tune would be my recomendation too as it does much more than properly operate the TC, but if money is a concern a switch would be your best option.

Yeah, I figured the kill switch killed the ABS too, which I'd like to keep. The switch basically just disables the ABS fuse at will doesnt it. Looks like I'll be getting a tune.

The Predator tune on my car includes fixing the TC. TC is not disabled unless you push the button. With the button pushed the TC is completely turned off--not like the factory bs where it is on under 20mph whether the button is pushed or not.
Tom can hook you up with a tune that will improve your performance and fix your TC problems.

I've stated this in other threads about this. Install the switch and flip it when you want to drag/launch hard, then after you are done playing around flip it back on so you have t/c and abs. You got to think the worst one of our SVT should do the 1/4 in is 16sec. so for 16 sec's you won't have ABS, live with it and if you can't live with out ABS for 16 sec then don't screw with it.
Here is the how to for the T/C kill switch. http://www.geocities.com/roshincherian/index.html I had mine done and did a write up on it and showed pics of mine long before this how-to was put out and basicly its how I said to do it. I don't care but thought it was funny how I made the argument to use your Fuse cover for the mounting spot for the T/C switch cause you can go to a junk yard and buy a used one for $5 if you ever change your mind then in about a week this how-to pops up. Here is a good thread about it. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...FC+kill+switch There maybe others but that how-to is all you need and you won't be disapointed in doing it. |
