the mods keep rolling in!
well guys im ordering my eibach sportline kit off of newedgeperformance for 424.00 and me and my friend chad and nick are going to put it on and i was just wondering what all we need to watch for while performing the install because ive never put a new suspension set up on a focus, and also what torque settings should we use and what size wheels and tires do you prefer? i did have 18s in mind but im leaning more towards 17s and what profile tires do u guys think with the sportline kit becuase it lowers the focus alot....... thanks for your inputs my friends

i have the sportlines and i am on 17" with 205/40/17's, so far everything is fine and it looks great!!

wheel size is up to you...i had sportlines and i was running 18's, my friend had sportlines on 17's, and my other friend has sportlines on 19's...so it's really up to you..i will say the 19's do rub during big dips..thats all the trouble he had ( and that is with 4 12's in the back and two people)

If I remember correctly, all the torque settings will be provided in Eibach's instructions. Make sure you read those and others provided on this site several times before doing anything. It will prevent mistakes and make the actual job much quicker. Do the fronts first, as they take a little more time. The rears will seem like child's play after the fronts.
Do final tightening and torqueing with the suspension compressed.... not extended on jack stands...otherwise you will bind things up. I find that a light hand tightening of everything, then removing the jack stands, bouncing each corner a few times while on the ground, then running the car up on some ramps and then doing the final torqueing works best. |
