How to Clearance the Windage tray for ARP Mains?
So as we know to use ARP mains we need to clearance the windage tray. I am trying to find some information on the width, depth, and placement of the cuts needed. Does any one remember, have written down or a template of a sorts on how much material I need to remove from the cross "rib" and its location? (Any harm in removing more materials?)
I have done searches and have only come up with pictures. My thing is I don't have the ARP mains yet but want to keep working on my focus engine build. So I can not fit for clearance on my block. (I have come across the following pictures, Picture 1, Picture 2, Picture 3) From the pictures it looks like you cut a 1" width and 2/3" deep starting at the point where the angle becomes flat. Would like some second opinion or conformation on the size and location needed. Does any one have measurements on these cuts? Thanks.

I got my crank installed with ARP studs over the weekend and took some grinding tools to the windwage tray to clearance for the ARP studs.
If any one else wants to clearance there windage tray prior to getting there bolts My measurements where the following. From the center "post" in the rib measure out 1" to start the cut. the cut will then be approx 1" wide and 1/2" deep. ![]() My windage tray all cleaned up and rounded edges on the new cuts. Will take to get sand blasted to remove any other "crap" still on it.

Do you got a build thread going on? Might be able to get a lot more activity with helping you if you made a build thread?

I have thought about it... its just about the time... I hardly have enough time to work on the car let alone create a build thread for it. I might get around to that the next few weeks or so as I have some down time until the end of the month when an oil pump is expected to come back into stock at C-F-M...

Where am I?

Build threads you can just keep adding too and you can ask questions there as well rather than having multiple threads open at one time. Just a suggestion is all and it's not something you have to do. Just keeps me from having to move some of your threads because they have nothing to do pertaining to performance parts.

ARP bolts are a performance bolt :-) right? so windage tray modification is needed for performance... sorry about the other posts though.
I will have time this weekend I will up load the plethora of pictures I have and start a build thread... I have wanted to for a while.
