Good luck in your quest to beat the Stang.. Just remember for the work it takes for you to hit 14's N/A, he can run 11's N/A in a 2v GT, if he decides to do it... FI is a different story even.

A stock 99-04 GT should run 13.8-14.2... Now there are bad drivers everywhere that can only run 15's with them, but trust me. Bone stock, they are capable of 13's... Thats pretty quick for a GT. Doesnt take much for a high 12 either. Sure the 05's are faster, but the previous ones are still quick.

And the works so hopefully the bottom end will hold when i start droppin some real heavy loads on it. plus for christmas i'm getting a 2.3L duratec bottom end so i can start building my own engine so i see a frankenstein focus in the making :). Every mustang beware of that.
Looking foreward to seeing when its done.
Post more info as the work contiues.

Nitrous oxide would be your best bet.

Actually a 331 stroker in an older lighter 5.0 would be your best bet.....sorry, I had to.

lol yea bigger better faster

The V8 motto "no replacemen for displacement". Ok so i found my kill switch.Stroked and bored zetec. i thought i was only going to get it bored. But the 4.6L will only run 14.6 is his fastest time. And with the bore and stroke some good ol bolt ons and a 100 hp shot of nitrous i'm hoping to humiliate him. If i think i can take him we are gonna put some good money down on it plus i have about 20 friends who don't think its possible. Well time to prove em all wrong i say. The oh shit button will be installed in my car by the end of christmas break soon as my engine gets back from the shop. On to the "Beast". Can a 2.3L duratec be bored and stroked? i'm hopin to get a 30 over bore and stroke to a 2.7L. If i could get that i would be happy because the turbo thats gonna go on my new engine is gonna make it sick. Plus i was wondering if i should stay front wheel drive or look into going fully frankenstien and getting a focus to be all or rear wheel drive. Feedback would be great.

!GOT A NEW JOB [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]!

Thx vinny but any idiot can make a V8 go fast. It takes some talent and patience to make a straight line four do the same. lol. Plus the 5.0 Might be lighter but the 4.6 has more rear end torque and a lil bit more horsepower. Kinda odd considering its a 282 block (didn't know ford even made one like that lol). Screw the 331 if i'm goin big its 460 Twin turbo'd. fully bored and stroked. Talk about mean your lookin at a drag car. Whoever thought of the idea for wheelie bars better have one hell of a pair for that haha.

If you ever want to beat him, here is what you have to do. Take it to a REally good shop, and have them up the v8 conversion on it. not only will you be 1000 pounds, you will have the exact same engine!!!

i think your going to need alittle bit more then all the bolt ons and a tune. You have a manual tranny right PNKschizm. Your best bet i would say is get some bolt ons a tune, and then go F/I. Also what year 4.6 mustang does he have, pre or post 05?
