Autocross 12/18/2005 Hialeah Park, FL

Well, besides a couple Mustangs, mine was one of the few Fords out there, and the only Focus that participated.

The good news: I came third in my class.
The bad news: There were only three in my class.
The excuse: My first time! Gimme a break!

I ended up in H-Stock and still got pwned, but damn it was fun. As soon as I figure out how to post pictures you'll see em. 50kB worth of pictures isn't that much; I'll go look it up tomorrow.

Best time was 50s, second best was 55s, third (mine) was 59. Considering I shaved off almost 4 seconds from my first run, I guess I can't beat myself up too much about it.

As far as the official results for my class, go to http://autox.carlc.com/, click on calendar (as though you're going to sign up for the Dec 18th event), and there should be a link for the results. As of now they haven't posted them as yet; I'm hoping they do it sooner rather than later.

Lastly................................................there was.........a novice class?

Gotta be fun to be within 1.5 seconds of a Skyline GTR in a Zetec sedan...

You guys have some NICE stuff out there racing. I think the combined value of your Super Stock and A Stock would buy every car in my region... twice.

If by set up you mean dropped cones and chalked parts of the course, then yeah, they did that. It's not like they had a loudspeaker system, or stands or anything. Just some small trailers, tents, tables, and that was it, nothing fancy.

We took 311 pictures for the whole day. I had to crop, resize and upload about 43 of them so that each was < 50KB, I guess they're pending approval now. They got some really good pics of me messing up big time in the first run; I did okay in all the other runs. You'll also see pics of two mustangs (the only other Fords that competed); they both really ripped up that course. The red one is a racing version, complete with *loud* engine, sticky tires and racing fuel fumes everywhere. They pulled it in on a trailer. HAH!

Anyway, I guess some time in the next 24-48 hours you guys will be able to see them. Like I said there are a whole lot more pictures, and in really good quality too. We used a Canon Digital Rebel, so it's really too bad you won't be able to see how good they really came out.

They've approved all the pictures. Somehow they got resized again, and now they're even smaller. Whatever, they're in my Photo Gallery. Enjoy...........don't laugh!
