i hate south florida

the title says it all. no offense to any on here that live down here, but the people are complete a-holes when it comes to screwing up peoples cars, purposely or accidentally. i was at school, dropping my g/f off for a meeting she had, and went inside for only a minute, to come back out and discover that there was a HUGE gash (pics up tomorrow when it's light out again) along the back corner on the drivers side of my car, not only along the door and to the back tail light, which is cracked and needs to be replaced, but the entire window and the part connected to it. the person that hit me, of course, left no contact information, and it made me even more upset that i just got this car less then a month ago after my focus was totaled, so this just topped the cake. we figured out that they must have droven into the spot next to me, made contact with their mirror, and attempted to back out, catching the top part on the way out. not to mention it's holiday season, and i'm broke because i've had to buy everyone gifts, so it will probably be another month before i can scrap together the funds for it. the dealership said it'll cost hundreds, maybe even more, something i didn't want to hear, and they are going to have to replace the panels, the window and the tail light, so with labor and everything included who knows how much the total will be.

also, the guy that lives in my neighborhood who is a roofing contractor had the same thing happen to him, in his brand new 350z. he parked it at the way back of the mall parking lot to run something in to exchange it, and came out to see his entire car, both hood, doors and trunk was keyed, and someone backed into him. no contact info again, go figure.

sorry to rant, but it just amazes me how irresponsible people can be, let alone how careless .

I have a BMW Z4. Picked up at the South Carolina factory. First night parked at the motel with 14 miles on the odometer, somebody keyed the hood, sides, trunk, and both side windows (must of been a rings with a diamond or something). Also spit on the windshield and side window. $2,500 to get the hood and truck repainted, glass replaced, and the sides rubbed-out/clear-coated, with a $500 deductable.

I was sick when I woke up and saw it.

You won't find me ever going to South Carolina again.

That sucks man, we had someone go to the trouble to key the side of our Taurus, and break out the back window. This has happened to us several times. We were walking out of the mall near where we live, my dad had parked near the doors, and we saw this guy spraypainting the convetible top with white paint, and he had already smashed out the windsheild. Needless to say, my dad wasn't very happy. I gotta say, seing my dad yank this guy away from the car, then throwing him over the hood of a truck next to us was kinda funny. The only reason he didn't get even more angry is that we were restoring the car. I hope insurance pays for the damage to your car.

that really sucks man i know how you feel i got my old taurus all keyed up one time in a school parking lot but you said you were at a school and for the most part they have cameras on the lot if you were close enough and if indeed it was a car that did it then you might be able to get the info with the plate # but you might now i would just see if thats the case and good luck with the repairs i know how you feel right now

God help the people if i ever catch anyone doing this crap to my car no matter what kind of car i own..........god help them because id only imagine getting to the point of crazy and beating them to no return and prolly be thrown in jail.

This is the lack of respect for your fellow man is why this stuff happens. I have not and will never do anything to damage someone elses property on purpose even tho i think its dumb or not something that i like, when i hear about this stuff it makes me sick. I promise everyone here if i see stuff like this happening i will personaly go to them and wish they had'nt even tho its not my car uno.
