anyway, my dad's 04 PSTD 6.0 diesel has been on Truck Universe spanking a 05 GT...the truck has run a best of 13.3@101.7...and my dad's partner has a Kenne Bell Blown 05 GT stang running 11.3 @ 125...soon to be 10s with slick...that is on the stock bottom end And my dad has an 03 Cobra running 10.4s with the stock exhaust manifolds, stock cams, and no nitrous. It has been converted to an automatic using a Mach1 processor that he wired up and tuned to work with the 03 cobra...works perfectly. If anything he can tune automatics very well...

Wow, no idea this thread would create this much debate!
Here is the reason I started it: There is a ZX3 that I see all the time at a local body shop. The owner works there, so no surprise that he has done some body work to it, and has nice wheels, etc.. It looks good but I've often wondered if he had any GO to go with his SHOW. Well, I was getting my oil changed across the street from the body shop and one of the guys there says he knows the owner of the ZX3. I said cool, I've seen him around, sharp looking car. And he starts talking about me and the ZX3 racing and it was kinda like he was fishing to see if I thought I had a chance. He didn't seem to realize what the big POWERED BY SVT on the engine was all about so I had to tell him 2 or 3 times that I shouldn't have any problem beating him unless he had turbo or s/c (which he didn't but was 'going to get it'). I wasn't trying to be cocky, but just stating the facts, and I guess I started the thread to make sure I wasn't MIS-stating the facts... Anyway, nothing planned but I'm pretty sure if we see each other at a light we will have to see if those three little letters make a difference!

arnt the gears really tall on the SVT? so it would take longer anyway to get up to redline...

not necessarily. 1st gear is taller...but if theres more power to get there, it doesnt matter. Less time taken up shifting. Once the SVT is in its power band, when shifting at full throttle, the gears dont seem that long at all.
