Didn't drill ANY holes. Ford already had them.... just had to take out the plugs they had put in them

listen, it's lovely and all to hear about the high 15 low 16 second modded zetecs running SVTs because their track time only sucked from x + y + z factors, but it's ridiculous to claim a bolt on n/a zetec could beat a tuned SVTF. I'm not just talking out of my ass here, I own one and did for two years prior to my SVT. It's apples and oranges. You need to go goat's route or forced induction to get that kind of power out of a standard 2.0 zetec.

and just because I'm a picture whore, here are my red and blue devils last saturday night in the snow :)

someday when I get money, that lil zx5 will be putting my SVTF to sleep though, I plan on getting one of tom's CGI block motors stroked to ~2.5 with low compression and stage 3 turbo, hoping to put ~700hp to the wheels and make a mean track only beast.

I never said I could hang with a TUNED SVTF...the thread was about taking a stock SVT. Right??

And good luck with your future mods for your zx5...will be a long haul, but worth it.

What if it was a 2.3L, any mods that could give an advantage over an SVT then?

I wasn't trying to discredit your story, I fully believe that you beat a stock SVTF. I was speaking towards the original poster to ease his worries of a chance to lose the race.

gotchya...I wanna put this out...anyone who runs a low 15 with a stock SVT is getting pretty good traction correct (2.1 60 foots and lower)? so to compare that to what my car would do with good traction, I would be with one. Correct? I am just to trying to justify myself, even if it really isn't needed.

personally I think you just raced a terrible driver, a SVT body kit and badging on a ZX# with exhaust, or someone who wasn't really racing. That doesn't mean you didn't win - just means it's not what you think it is . . . because let's face it, .77 seconds is a LOT of spinning your tires. More power to you on the quest to build your car though.

I dont understand why it is so hard to believe The SVTs arent fast...and in order to run a 14.9...you need good traction, good launch, and know how to powershift really well. If I could do all that in the same conditions I wouldn't be suprised if I ran a low low 15... You are making a stereotypical judgment about my car cuz of the mods. The one thing you overlook is my tune...the tune is everything on this car, and the tuner who did it is probably one of THE best out there. Now lets just leave it at our own opinions and walk away from this with smiles knowing that both of us are right

If SVT's aren't fast why does everyone with a NON SVT keep talking about how close they are to catching one.........
