i'm 49 now, bought my 2004 SVTF, in July 2007 with 16,000 miles. It now has just over 29,000 miles.......great car......I would love to buy an ST, but I wanna keep my SVT also. I have to figure out the logistics of two cars, while I only have one parking spot in the building where I live.......

How about the st fiesta that's out now. Think you'll like it better than the Svt?

OLD Dude

I'm 61, and my Black '03 SVTf is still my daily driver. Almost 30 mpg doing 80 as best I can.

Occasionally I take my Other '03 SVT which is a Convertible Cobra. You know, most of the time, that's just too much car to enjoy, traffic considered. Cruising, now that's different.

So the Focus is almost an ideal commuter car. Sporty, handles like a dream, will STOP quicker than Most Anything on the road. Can fit in spots others can't, etc. It might be a 6 speed, but with the Hyd Throwout Bearing on the clutch it's just not something that wears out the legs.

My 03 has 177k on the clock. Suspension has been redone, only power adder was a power pulley and CAI when it had 100k and got a new timing belt and water pump.

Did however get a surprise when it dropped the last timing belt at about 60k miles. Got a chance to replace 6 valves, and do a valve job. Bottom end is pretty tight. I was behind on oil changes and at 6k it was still full and the oil was still mostly clear.

Next to fix is the shifting. Some gates are tougher than others and there seems to be some slack. Other than the occasionally cooling system leak, it's pretty top notch.

And the Nitto NeoGen's are the ONLY tires I'll put on it. Getting almost 25k per set and the ride is awesome.

I'm 45 and have owned my Svt Focus almost two years. Love the car.
