You're absolutely right. If you drive sensibly you can achieve decent mpg rating. I do most of my driving in the streets, and I still get about 23 miles around town. But oddly enough, not that much better on the highway -- maybe 26 or so; however, I do have to confess that I tend to have a heavier foot on the interstates. LOL! That might have something to do with. (I do love to hear the roar of the exhaust.)

And, btw, I bought my focus in '03 when I was 58.

Just bought my SVT and I'm driving the living hell out of it! Its a quick little bugger and I love how it handles- it's really a challenge to get it to understeer, even on s**t tires!

All around great car!

i am 29 and i tell you what my kids call it the ladybug LMAO, now to all members looking at htis i wanna know how your getting more than 26mpg in city and highway because my 04 svt is in tiptop condition and is kept maintained highly so please enlighten me guys

highways here in florida are 70mph and i am on the 3000rpm range in cruise control and the best i get is 24mpg highway

38 Years old here. Just bought my 2004 SVT with 94500 miles on is for $6999and I really like it. Had clean carfax and had it checked out with AutoExam before I bought it.

I will be 66 in January 2013. My '04 SVT EAP has 66+K and the only performance mod is an FSWerks tune (thanks Randy!). I never get less than 28mpg in the "city" (pop. 8000+) and better than 33mpg @70/80 mph on I-95. It is a superb little GT.
