Performance Pulleys
Just a simple question here....
Other than the Crank pulley, what other pulleys on a 03 ford focus zx3 and a 04 ford focus SVT can be replaced with performance pulleys? Also where can i order them from? Thanks for your help, Efrain

The crank, water pump, and alternater pullies. You can look on Ebay for the crank and water pump pullies, but it is VERY hard to find all three together. The brand is Focus Central and I think they went out of business some time ago. AEM makes the alternater pulley by itself and uses the stock belt. Focus Central uses the stock belt with the 2pc set, so I would think if you wanted all three, you could get the AEM alternater pulley and the 2 from Focus Central off Ebay or look on here at the For Sale forum.

save your money i have focus centeral pullys and it makes very little differance.....there have been dyno runs in f.f. magazine and ford focus high performance builders handbook...10ths of hp gain....plus possible damage from vibration do to the harmonic balancer being removed

I put a ford racing crank pulley on and I dunno what the numbers say, but I could tell the difference. Sometimes I wonder about the problems that may arrise from using it and other times I dont. I am curious to see if the stock crank and aftermarket accessory pullies would get similar effects.
Remember, you arent getting HP gains, you are freeing up HP thats already there and putting it to better use.

Anyway, The *main* benefit of an aftermarket crank pulley is the lighter weight of the unit. The underdrive does little for performance, and is actually detremental to normal car ops if the underdrive is significant enough. Try and find a Focus Central 1pc pulley. Mine cost 65 bucks shipped new. Paying 120+ for something that you're probably not going to feel anyway is pointless...

SAVE YOUR MONEY
You guys that say you felt a gain felt you hope of a gain , your thinking of how good it will be with more power , But the dyno has proven little to no gain from the pulleys What UDP pulleys are there for is to slow down how many times the (lets say waterpump) WP turns in a given amount of time , by slowing down how many times it turns in theory saves HP because the engine gives up HP and TQ to turn all the units on the front of the engine It has nothing to do with the weight of each part/pulley your changing again save you money Tom

That's not true. My pulley (custom) gained me 5whp peak and 7whp max. It also killed a bad idle i had. It's the smallest UDP in existence for the Zetec but that doesn't matter. The UDP will help whether you feel it or not.

You do realize that most dyno's cant truely read a 5whp gain.
Besides dont listen to me or Tom........ even though Toms done this for OVER 20 years
