The start button looks awsome, but does anyone have any ideas about how to replace the ashtray?

You could use resin/fiberglass to fill in the hole (Like I am)
And then Relocate the start button to the center of the bezel (Under the radio)

I'll post pictures of it when it's done as well as the process !

Troy.

Id like to see that too, but the Ford GT start button fits perfectly at the 12v outlet.

well as to the hopping in without a key......
dont all of our keys have a chip in them for anti theft reasons....
so even if you did take out the cylinder youd still need the chip and therefore the key...
it just wouldnt have to be in the cylinder......

or am i totally wrong?????

I think the key has to be within a 1/2" of the cylinder. If the lock cylinder is gone, I think PATS would be totaly [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]** up. your car wouldn't start, and the red flashy wont stop flashying.

Yuo can make it work by tie-strapping oneof your keys inside the shroud at the transciever, but then anyone could escentially steal your car.

Please let me know if I have this right... If I add this start button as shown by the original post can I use this to start my car if my ignition will not turn?

I have my key and it will go into the ignition, but it will not turn. I don't want to have to pay to get this fixed, as it's the second time this has happened. If this will work, it'll be just what I need. So will this work if my key will not turn? Thanks.

You couldnt drive the car that way, your steering wheel should be locked if you cant turn the key. Besides that, i can get you the new style lock cyl that wont do that again.
