can anyone tell me if a bottle of NOS has to mounted at a particular angle?

Should be mounted on an angle. The bottle has a hose that runs to the bottom of the bottle in order to pick up liquid. Try to imagine the hose and aim to put it right in the corner of the bottle.
I've always wondered myself if you could take the siphon hose out and just turn the bottle upside down, with the valve on the bottom. Technically it would still pull just liquid.

Old school is correct, it should say in the instructions that it has to be installed on an angle.

Zarelli, just trying to get the engine to blow up or what?
