How to remove the rear keyhole?

Hello. Today I bought and had a rear (back up) camera installed on my 2000 ZX3's rear window connected to my in-dash DVD player. As it is now the viewing angle of the camera is better than just looking out the back window, but not as good as I wanted it to be. The camera I bought is meant to go in key holes, which would greatly improve the viewing angle, which leads me to my question; does anyone know how to remove the hatchback keyhole? If so, is there a how-to somewhere on the internet? Any information on how to install the camera in the keyhole would be great as well.

Thanks!

Maybe this will help. I think you will have to take the whole
latch assembly off the inside of the hatch. There are 4 plastic
screws that hold the moulding on and then you will see the
whole latch assembly.

I had a closer look by removing the cover panel of the door and noticed that if I were to put the camera in the keyhole, the camera might be a bit too long and would hit the latch assembly. I'm considering drilling a hole somewhere near the keyhole/license plate area. Any suggestions?

Remove the plastic above the liscence plate and see if you can install it on there. It'd be cheaper to replace in the long run if you decide to remove the camera or want to sell your car.

Good idea. I've been trying to remove the plastic cover but I just can't seem to get it off. How is it attached and how do I get it off? :)

Thanks!

^^^i believe its just attached with super sticky 3M double sided tape. Might be screws though not sure, but yea that would be a good place to put it.
