The first Focus I bought was a 03 ZTW. I fell completely in love with it and it is actually the reason I bought my SVT. My wife drives the wagon now and other than its lack of power, she loves it too.

I personally think the wagon is built better than the SVT. From the way the doors close to the fact that it has never been in the shop. It's been a great car and is still my personal favorite. I'm totally jealous of every Focus wagon, 5-spd owner!!!

Yeller... that's a testament to the UAW there bro Wagons and sedans are made in the USA, and hopefully will remain made here after restructuring.

I was actually disappointed in my fellow laborer brothers and sisters when I got my car, but I'm getting over the minor details. I'm still upset at the engineers for the way the new appearance was fitted to the old chassis, and the corporate moguls for not financing sufficient rubber under the hood to block airflow. When I took the carpet out I found a few extra things under there, and there were a few electrical grounds that weren't hooked up. As the dealers say: It is a Focus. Shame on me for expecting high quality I suppose.

I think the power is okee dokee... it is after all, a grocery getter. That being said, it's fun to smoke kids in DX Civics with fat mufflers, and those annoying little GM's in a wagon

I really like my wagon.For the price paid, I think it is hard to beat..With the 5 speed an intake, exaust and a 50 shot of nitrous it def embarasses the "fart can" crowd!

My first Focus was a 2000 ZXW with 5 speed. Drove it for 250 thousand km. Nine recalls.

My new wagon is a 2005 ZXW with 5 speed. Did a catback. The 2.0 Duratec is much quieter engine. Outside road noise is better, too. However, I think it can be improved upon. Very tight car, corners better than the 2K.

I have a dream! A great dream! I recently came into posession of a Brand new with only 600KM on it, 2005 Mustang 4.0L V6. Just imagine this puppy, under the hood of my Focus Wagon. Force feed by a piar of Turbos, backed by a 6 Speed and AWD. Audis, Volvo's will quake on their tires!

^^^ The Duratec 3.0 V6 would be a easier swap considering it is already set up for FWD and can be mated to the Jaguar X type transmissoin... see Duratec performance for an article entitled "AWD Focus project" or something like that. Most of the parts needed can be found in common Escapes, however a lot of fabrication will be needed.... and a wagon would be better than the "little" cars.

Personally I'd skip the AWD as I remember that with equally powered FWD and AWD 1st gen Eclipses, the FWD version was quicker in the 1/4 mile due to less power loss in the drivetrain.
