reverse light

my reverse lights don't work and its not a blown bulb. i'm not getting power to the light

Its probaly the reverse light switch on the tranny. Mine went out a few months ago. Its a real easy fix.

To check, find the location of the switch on the tranny, put the car reverse, and check for power to from the switch. If you dont have power then its the switch.

Quick way to check jump the wires on the plug throw the thing in reverse and turn key on, you should get lights. I just fixed mine clean it out with electrical contact cleaner, depress the ball and spray cleaner in then shake the crap out of it do that a few times until the fluid comes out clear, its caked on tranny fluid. If you have aftermarket intake you won't need to remove anything but the plug wire, you'll need deep dish sockets 7/8 or something around there. A new switch is $46 contact cleaner is $5. You make the call.
