Abs Light terror

Ok... so my brakes were making some insane scary noises, jack the car up... the wheel wobbles... the abs light was on too... so i get the new hub, press all that junk in... and i dunno how to clear the abs light... already turned to unplugging the battery for 20 min... cleared out the engine codes, but not the abs ... i dunno what i can do short of taking it into the shop... the brakes work well... and im used to driving my 78 corolla wagon.. no abs.. but that daggum light is annoying as anything. i need to clear it. and i am poor.

If it didn't clear itself after resetting the ECU, you most likely have a problem with the ABS.
You mentioned "brakes were making some insane scary noises, jack the car up... the wheel wobbles"...
The ABS sensor could very well have been damaged because of that.

I don't know how to check the ABS system, other than taking it in to the Dealer.
Well, there is the road test...
If you've got ice/snow on the road, or some real wet pavement,
you should be able to tell pretty quickly if the system is working or not.

EDIT
I just thought of something else on the way home.
It's even simple!
Have you checked the ABS fuse?
Maybe, (wishful thinking) all that jostling around shorted the sensor, and popped the fuse...

i changed the hub... and we all know if the abs light is on steady, the abs system disables itself... its as if it has just given up on doing self checks... and i have learned from reading that the ecu is entirely seperate from the abs comp system... so im not sure... i think i need access to a code scanner that does chassis codes.

yup... fuse 46 intact
