since my minor engine and suspension modifications my mpg are around 34 mpg up from the 30 mpg i posted before the car was finished. more power and mpg's...i think the cost difference between 87 and 93 oct have negated savings at the pump tho

Since last posting (and checking mileage after every fill up) I recorded 34.9 on the last tank.

Fortunately, 90% of my driving is highway. My little monster is less than a month old and I have 2500 plus miles on it. I did notice the fill up before was around 31 after about 100 miles of city driving.

Focus 1: 2001 ZX3 with 98k- Average around 23-25 city and highway...not too much of a difference.

Focus 2: 2001 ZX3 with 35k- Average about 25 highway.

2007 Focus ZX3 S. Not one option. First fillup I achieved 28.3 MPG and that was filling thr tank to the tip top. I am sure the dealership did not do that when they filled it for my purchase (so I suspect increased milage next fillup). I am driving 70 - 75 mph on the freeway while I drive the car...

I have 3k miles on it. and still breaking it in, but thanks to 1k mile highway drive.... I will have to see a trend in city driving though.

Igor
It will trend up as it gets more broken in. When I first got mine the BEST I could get was about 26-27. I've tracked EVERY SINGLE tankfull since. by the time I was cresting 3k total miles, the MPG was up to 28-29 where it stayed for most of the next 3K miles, then about 7K I noticed another move up to 29-31. NOW I should add, while this is mostly "around town" driving I am KING-FEATHERFOOT. I pace the lights, I use the CC in town, and I very rarely go over 60. I do occasionally enjoy a rapid-up-to-speed but they are very short bursts. I get into 5th gear as soon as possible.
I'm expecting MPG to level off around 35-36.

Got the Steeda in.
springs and dampers pending, when that's done. will be going to TOM for a tune.
