first 5k miles, daily driver, average of 27.5 mpg
then next 10k got about 28.5-29.5 mpg then was getting 29 mpg consistently thereafter. currently at 45k miles, and get 32mpg consistently. ever since i put my Cosworth CAI in, about 10k ago it jumped up, even when I drive hard for the entire time it only goes down to 29.5 mpg, if i take it easy, i can get 34mpg (2004 2.3 L Duratec, ZX5 fully loaded, 5 spd). It depends on how you drive, and the mileage the car has on it etc. Iniitially when it was brand new I was very disappointed, but gave it a chance. I am suprised it took 25-30k to be at the 30mpg mark. |

37 when I try, 34 when I don't. 28.9 on E85; mostly highway miles except for the 4 dyno pulls at 119MPH...

1st tank at 34k was 24mpg and some change, 2nd tank I have no idea as the dealer reset the comp and I lost my milage on the trip odo.
Working on the third tank right now, we'll see I guess. Some of the newness has worn off and my foot has been out of it a bit more on the third tank. Highway miles, almost 50/50 split between stop and go on the freeway (way home, roads are parking lots) and wide open highways in the morning on the way to work. 50 miles round trip. |

When I was commuting 110 miles a day (95% highway), I was averageing 31 mpg in my Zetec Auto, now I'm getting about 28.5 mpg on hillier roads. (75% highway, 20% hilly highway, 5% city) but I haven't driven my Duratec Manual yet, I'll have to let you know how it does!

Never underestimate the power of E10-E20 to turn gas mileage into a dreadful affair. Mileage comparison here will have very little utility unless this is included in the posts.
