Unless you pay a shitload of extra money for their wood grain options, you're getting the same material. Again, keep in mind in Europe the focus ST comes between 31 and 35 thousand dollars, and one of the first options is to get all leather on those recaros. It's on par with luxury interiors because it's in the same price range as the luxury cars. If you'd ever been inside a BMW 3, G35 sedan/coupe, or A4 that was 36K or under, you'd see what I was talking about. The truth is they really aren't impressive until you get into the 40K range.

Personally I think the ST has a nicer looking interior than the BMW.

In other words, that it looks nice but perhaps there are "details" in real life that would pop up under closer inspection (cheap feeling/looking plastics, cheap feeling switchgear, uncomfortable seats, bad panel alignment, etc). It seems a little premature to say based on what it looks like, that it's comparable to entry-level luxury car interiors.
you've not read any european car mag reviews of the focus ST? they seem to be impressed with it.

in fact they are far more impressed than most american reviews of the standard infiniti g35 interior, which I've personally been inside and the interior is about as high quality as my SVTF

I'm not asking anything - I'm telling. That's what people in Europe are paying, now, today, as we speak.
After currency conversion the Focus ST starts just below $31,000 and goes up above $35,000. It's a damn popular car too. Now if Ford brought it over here sans heated windshield, voice activated climate/gps/stereo controls, bluetooth setup to automatically receive calls and mute your stere, pocket-key entry and ignition, I'd imagine we'd get 23-25K. But again, in Europe it has all that, and that's why I said it's on par with BMW, Lexus, Infiniti, etc, because it is.

You can ask for a product at any price you want, but a company is going to take whatever people will pay for it. People are paying 31-35 thousand for the Focus ST as it stands today. Ford is not bringing a Focus that expensive to the US. We have the Volvo S40 T5 AWD for that, and maybe we'll get lucky enough to have a 3 door hatch version someday.

and I can vouch that the SVTF interior is equal quality to the infiniti G35.

It is a great looking car! I would pay $23-26,000...

Keep in mind when converting the money over to our currency it is not a direct conversion...meaning, if it is a 15,000 pound car in the UK usually means the car is going to be around 18-20,000 dollars in the US. If we were to buy a car directy from the UK then the conversion would apply and a 15,000 pound car would be around 30,000 dollars.

Well, no, as a matter of fact I haven't read any because I don't read European car magazines. If they like it, great.

25-30 grand can you get you ALOT more car. The new eclipse with just as nice of in interior, 6 cylinder N/A making 263 horsepower and a lot sportier look, 10 speakers 650 Watt Rockford sound system WITH a subwoofer, fully loaded is 30 Grand. No way would I pay 30 grand for that focus. Maybe 20 grand. But for 30, You can get an Evo or an STI with MORE power, and just as good if not better handling. I don't care about the blue-tooth and 10-way adjustable seats etc etc. I don't drive a car for all that, I drive a car for the love of driving and for 25-30 grand I could get a car that's a LOT more fun to drive.

Legacy GT with cloth seats for 27 MSRP. All wheel drive, the turbo quickness, and full size sedan roominess.

sigh @ people who miss the point entirely.

regardless of whether or not YOU think all that voice controlled, pocket keyfob, heated windshield, bluetooth stereo, 10 way heated/cooled leather seats is worth it, there are thousands of people who do. if you want to drive an uncomfortable noisy but kickass car, get an STI.
