i just dont get it, everyone wants more power from this thing. its a 5 cyl turbo charged. 225 BHP. from a HATCHBACK. for 20-23K, that seems like plenty enough power. and if you put as much money into it as I see alot of people doing to say an SVT, you could probably get it close to 300.

it's a new chassis, extra cylinder, turbo, and luxury quality interior.

you're on drugs if you think ford would only charge 15-17 for it

I think 20k-23k sounds reasonable. I'd say 24k-27k if it was all wheel drive, but it's not if I'm not mistaken. I love a car with control, and it looks like this car just enough boost to make it fun. Easier to tinker with for speed. Love the new interior.

Just so everyone knows, here are some highlights...
ST comes with bluetooth technology, voice activated climate control, and GPS navigation. It has recaro 10-way adjustable heated seats, heated front windshield, MP3 player and Xenon headlights. 6-speed transmission, folding side mirrors, 4-piston brake calipers up front. Keyless ignition and doors (and I'm not talking with a remote control). And there's a 4-dr option.

24,000. because I'm not gonna pay a similar price to that of a mustang GT. Part of why I like my focus so much is that it an economy car, that really outperforms everything on its level. If you put it in a "higher weight class" it doesn't shine as much.

Because realistically we all know if Ford actually brought this car over, unchanged from it's European form, it would cost $25,000 - $30,000... and in that price class there are plenty of cars that would easily outperform it. If it really goes 0 - 60 in 6.8 seconds as someone posted earlier, that's less than 1 second faster than my SVT. I'm not paying that much money for a brand new car that isn't particularly faster than the car I already have, no matter how many creature comforts like Bluetooth and heated windshields it may have. If the car were appreciably different in form and I just wanted to experience driving a different kind of car, say like going from my SVT Focus to a Pontiac Solstice, maybe I wouldn't mind no big performance gains... but from one Ford hatchback to another (at inflated cost, no less), well the performance better be really good.

^^^ What he said.

Not to mention those good ol boys that made the Volvo Evolution S40 stroked more than 400hp/tq out of that 5 cylinder powerplant with a turbo.
