I may be wrong but for the same car, the brits pay more. I would guess $22,000 to $24,000. I would pay it... Here is a good site for it:

I was in Spain last spring and I saw the new Focus there first...definitely, DEFINITELY liked the new zx3 (looked just like this) MUCH better than the previous models...

A fully loaded 2006 ZX4 SES is $21,210.00 MSRP here in the US so how could that MK2 Ford Focus ST be available for only $20K-$23K here? I don't see that happening.

Check the price...the baseline ST is selling for 17,495, and at current conversion rates that works out to about $30,500.

Thats about right. I figured about $31,500.00 but its close. I do know for sure that the car will be high dollar here in the states. A fully loaded one is going to be way up!

its a great looking car, and like everyone else has said, another 40 hp would be easily obtainable with some aftermarket trickery. they said in another article i read that ford claims 6.5 0-60. does anyone know how many #'s of boost this thing is pushing? i'm guessing something like 6 or 8. is it intercooled? if it is, you know it could easily handle 12-15+. seems like a great car. i don't think that 24k would be out of the question.

unfortunately, i can almost guarantee all of you that this car, or any SVT focus will never be distributed by ford in this country again... not under the Blue Oval anyways. we all know the mazda speed 3 is coming out next year for around 24k. like it or not, this is probably the closest we will ever get to a FI SVT Focus in the states. i think they look great, and not a bad price either. much like the st, the ms3 will come with 220hp and a 6speed manual. much UNLIKE the st, the ms3 will have the same 2.3 turbo the mazdaspeed 6 has, which puts out 274hp/tq. it won't take long for the aftermarket fairies to nuzzle around under the hood and "re-tune" these bad boys into the fire breathing turbo monster mofo's they were meant to be. i can't wait. i doubt i'll buy one, but after a test drive, it might be hard to turn down. we'll just have to wait and see.

20 to 23 sounds like a sure sell. I'm stuck on the 16V Ztec but the 5cyl. looks tempting. I like the look and I like the size. What really needs improvement is the 0 to 60 time.

Why do you say the 0-60 time needs improvement? Honestly, those numbers are really just for magazine performance statistics. It's become a magazine trend for determining performance, but in the real world, when arguing tenths, we're talking many variables. It just really doesn't tell you enough about what a car can and can't do. We need a new standard...
