Rear defroster wont work

My rear defroster decided to stop working. I have checked the fuse and it is not burned out. I put an ohm meter to the female connecter at the rear window and it is not getting any power. Any suggestions?

thanks

Jason

I too had this problem were the rear defroster and various other electrical stuff stopped working. Somehow, disconnecting the battery solved these problems.

Gotta love the easy fix.

If that doesn't help, you might have to track the wire, maybe it got frayed or pinched somehow on its way back to the rear window?

This might be supplied by a relay. Maybe see if you can find it and check it...

Check the wire at the rear window. Sometimes if it was loose it can dissconect. When I had my windows tinted in my Stang, they forgot to connect it back. I thought it was a fuse or something. It was simple, it was just unpluged. It is worth a look, and is a quick fix if that is the case. If it is still connected, check your on off switch.

Agreed, check the relay, and as stated above, check right where the wire clips onto the window. I have also had problems with a loose connection there on a Ford before.

I have checked the wires at the window and those were connected. As for the relay i could not under the hood. Any ideas where it would be and how I would disconnect it?

Thanks again.

Look in your owners manual, there should be a diagram of what relay controls what...
