First off...

Second off...
This topic has been discussed in MEGA detail.
1) A cat back will give you minimal (if that) gains in power over the stock setup.
2) The only benefit of a cat back will be better sound, and we all have different tastes as far as that goes.

Just to be nice, most 2.5" set ups will give you a 'slight' (emphasis on slight) increase in power. It won't be anything that you can feel though. I got my borla for the awesome classy sound. Maybe there is a slight increase in power altogether coupled with my CAI and Tune, but i don't sweat over it.

A bit off topic but if you swapped out the factory cat with a R/T high-flow cat, that will give you an increase in power. I don't know exactly how much but peeps who have them seem to love them. There is also the Off-Road Pipe (ORP) but it is illegal and makes your car pollute 20 fold, I wouldn't recommend a ORP.

You've heard my Borla....That seems to be the exhaust of choice around here.

Like I told you before, the SVT comes factory with a good suspension, badass 4-2-1 header, and flowing exhaust.

to the forums.

This discussion has been beat to death with a stick and then beat some more with a wet noodle...HP gains are minimal over the already excellent stock exhaust so the only gain out of a catback exhaust would be sound.

just put a magnaflow setup on today. Did not notice one bit of a hp gain, although the sound is 100x better than stock.

I just installed a magnaflow system yesterday. Since Ive had good experiences with them in the past I went with one of there systems again. I made one slight change to the system, I got rid of the pipe and tip from the muffler back and had a custom mandrel bent pipe and magnaflow dual tip installed for a center exit. As for HP gains unless your have FI or a built motor, gains are gonna be very small. I think in the last FF mag they did a basani exhaust with a SCT tune and they only gained about 6-7 HP on the dyno. The only reason I changed my exhaust was to get a better flowing system for my next upgrade...either an S/C or Turbo. Heres a link to what my new exhaust looks like.

if you REALLY want a catback for the svt let me know i may have my Borla for sale that was on my zx3, i would put it on my svt but i just can't afford to. But as every1 said there is NO gain in it, just a different tone...a bit deeper than stock...

im personally not sure if the stock is stainless steel but aftermarkets are stainless steel which would help with rusting problem
