For daily driving I always run 93 or 94 octane, but since this was 30 minute heats and there was going to be excessive abuse and heat generated I filled up with 110. If I had to guess I would say I never got below 4000 rpms and most of the time I was above 5000rpm's in full boost.

That creates lots and lots of engine heat which we all know leads to detonation, so I figured it would be safer this way

Oh yea,

I ran it so hard that at the end of the second heat I cracked the Prototype Intake from Focus-Power

Thus ended my day..... until one of my ramps came off the trailer and my SVT fell off as I was loading it, breaking my intercooler mounts off

Talk about getting pissed.....

Thats awesome. You guys are the Gods of the Focus World. I would've loved to see the looks on their faces as they were getting bitch slapped by a Focus.

Glad you had fun and welcome to a new addiction. I ended up going to watkins glen where it was 40f and raining. Being in Ohio, you should check out the hpde instruction with NASA when they run at mid-ohio.

Just one quick note on track etiquette. If someone is in your mirrors coming out of a corner, you need to let them go by no matter how much power you have. (unless you were held up by someone else) They are in your mirrors for one reason, and one reason only. They are faster than you. So hopefully I just misunderstood the below comment.

I loved the looks I was getting when these race-prepped cars were catching me on the curve but couldn't pass me on the straights..... and with a Focus none the less.

LOL..... I would let them pass as soon as we would hit the straights, but I would catch them before we would get half way down it and I would have to slow down to keep from passing them.

I knew they were gonna eat me up in the curves, being my first time on a track running STOCK suspension and even the STOCK Conti's which are down to the wear lines in the tread.... but I made sure they knew that they could NOT outrun me on the straights
