first year STi modding!! (lotta pics)

Needless to say in the first year of owning my STi, I haven't really gone mod crazy. I have done a couple things here and there but right now in my life the upcoming baby is getting all my attention (and money ). Hopefully if everything works out in the next year I should have a fullblown audio setup and gauges as well as going stage 2 so those are the upcoming plans for my 2nd year of owning the STi. So here are some pics of the car and of the mods I have done since last year.




The wheels have made it through a whole winter looking pretty good!!


My first mod was a JDM STi titanium strut bar.


Second mod was a battery holder that I found. This kind is hard to find for some reason.


Third mod was to red out some of my interior lights. Don't know why Suby mad the gauge cluster red and the rest of the interior lights green Still not done totally with this but i did the most important to me.

Fourth mod was to get an STi radiator cap. Increases boost slightly.


Fifth mod was the most expensive $1100 for an axleback exhaust. This is true JDM STi exhaust and based of the S202 exhaust. The sound of this exhaust is to die for (sounds real mean...some would say V8ish) which ids why I paid top dollar for it and yes that is a 5 inch tip (ricey comes to mind) but I have grown to love it.

On the car


Next up was my most beneficial mod. A Cobb AP engine management unit. this thing is simply amazing. Right now I am only stage one but that provided a big pickup (increas of 16 hp and 33 TQ!!!) without doing anything to my car at all. Amazing what a little tuning can do to a total stock car.


Waiting to be installed is just a grounding kit. I have heard ups and downs about it but I figured what the hell...the color of the wires will go with the car.


Last mod was to get a SWRT hat because the Mustang hat wasn't flying with me not driving one any more. So I had to import a hat from the UK so that Petter Solberg signature hat was mine. Didn't cost me much either !!


I am choosing my mods wisely so fatr and won't go for anything less then the best. Right now suspension parts are my hardest pick. I love the STi pink bits underneath the car but Cusco makes some great stuff so that is a choice I have to make yet. Well I hope you all enjoyed my modding path for the first year and hopefully next year will be better.

I will leave you with a dyno of the Cobb stage 1 which is the map I am running currently. since this is an off the shelf program my car should be running very similar to this dyno. Obviously not every car is built the same. I just found an AWD dyno place close to me so I will have an actual dyno of MY car soon.

DAMN......nice numbers, and i love the exhaust. big tips are OK when you have power to match the size, and your car has the power department covered. Keep the mods coming to increase the #s!!!

nice too guys in my squadron have STi's i defently dool everday when i see them both '05 i work with one, hes put a few things on it but i only rember the borla exaust
