New Racer Needs Help to Not Look Stupid

I have a ZX3 with the only mods being 2" drop(APEX) and Steeda Shifter.
I wanted to go with my friends car club to a drag but I have never done it before and don't really want to look like a true idiot.

I know my times are going to suck, and I know i may be the slowest one out there, but that doesn't affect me really because im used to being the last one over the line but what do I need to know, and no i will not be power shifting.

Basically Im looking for a quick run down of what to expect from a 1/4 mile bracket race.

Beauty of bracket racing is that ANYONE can win, just stay consistent.

Expect to be in the mid 16's

I have seen many custom foci's around Lebanon but don't know them and for some reason they are not on FJ or here. I felt like i was the only Focus Fanatic around here for a long time. Too bad I don't have my focus any more.

Thanks for the good link,

anyone have a good reaction time I should aim for over the course of the day? Not too extreme but I don't even know what a reaction time should be :)

one thing to remember....dont wait for the green to launch. let loose when the third yellow lights...only .5 sec between lights, so by the time green drops you move and youll have a great reaction time.

Dont drive through he burnout box if you are on street tires, which im assuming you are.

a. The water will get on your tires and you will spin worse off the line.
b. it will put water on the line and the guys with slicks will be pissed when the lose traction. A lot of ricers do that at the track I go to, pisses me right off.

Have fun though!
