A little rough when shifting outta first

I've found that, when shifting out of first gear (doesn't matter which gear I'm going to) that sometimes it feels like there's a little grinding going on. Nothing too bad, but it definitely wasn't there before. Has anybody else had this? Is there any way I can investigate it further? If it got worse, would Ford just replace my tranny under warranty?

That's their decision, bring it by and let your service rep decide.

If they suck, they'll say "Yep yer tranny is dumpster food, you killed it wit dat short trow shiffer."

You might want to swap out your shifter before you bring it in.

^^^ Do they really know the difference? I'm skeptical that those guys know our cars so well that they'd know if I had an STS. Swapping that out could be a real pain in the a$$.

And when I had my oil changed last, I had the STS and didn't hear a word. Oh well, beats me.

Side by side, I think they might (or if someone owns one), they might notice. But I don't think they'd pick up on it. Nor should they give you crap about a short-throw shifter wearing down your transmission.

TSB, man. TSB...

That's the one thing I don't really care for in my SVTF, the tranny. I wish they would have put a better shifting tranny in that sumbitch! Sometimes it's damn hard to get it into first if I am sitting at a light with my foot off the clutch, disengage the clutch and try to put it in first, very agitating, especially if I want to get moving quickly. Thought about changing the fluid and using royal purple but not sure if that would help.

Would RP solve my problem then? Or maybe I'm dealing with bad synchros.

What does that sticker on your passenger door frame say? You might need the new TSB.

Mine's a bit rough as well, but nothing to worry about, perhaps I'll switch to Royal Purple tran's fluid.
