Dang Cy I want your 3rd brake! I dunno if it would look good in the daytime though with my clear lense.
I posted a thread in the showroom with pics of my new switch and rear fogs. I think I was confused earlier about what the parking light position was. All this time I thought the European parking lights was the second position on the headlamp switch. So if I'm not mistaken, in European Foci you put the headlamp switch into the far left slot, and lock the turn signal to the side of the car you want the lights to stay on?

The LEDs are red, so they would still shine a nice bright red. And those are some nice pics you posted! But where are the ones of the front end
And to be honest, I don't know how the parking lights work. I read somewhere that the cluster lights, rear plate lights, and marker lights are supposed to light up. |

My front end is teh suck right now...the film on my DEPO's are peeling like crazy! so no front end pic for now until I clean it up
I found more info on the European parking lights. Read Post #3. I found that they added this feature in Europe so that you can park your car at night on a narrow [European] street and leave the lights on the street side of the car on overnight without draining your battery. http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2201358 Maybe it'll work if you use diodes. haha idk. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to electronics, but it would be an interesting project for the Focus

Funny thing is we're going over diodes in school right now. None of it sank in haha!
If anything it has to do with the GEM, all the functions are probably built into the GEM already. Here's a little teaser pic for my valve cover. It's really hard to capture the color of the teal, but if you see it in person it's really nice. I need to clean it up more and sand it some more, and when the weather clears up I'll rattle can it.

All I learned about diodes was that the current only flows in one direction. If you have current coming in towards the diode, it'll be blocked off. I had to learn about it because I needed to wire four of them from my alarm to the door domelamp trigger wires (for courtesy domelamp control)
Is that a Focus zetec valve cover? Looks kinda different

Yeah and the arrow is pointing to the negative if it's forward biased. If its reverse biased it points to the positive. I'm also learning about transistors and chips and gates and inverters.
It's a Zetec valve cover, but its off of an early Contour without VCT. The other aluminum valve covers say Zetec on top. There some casting marks on it that I want to sand off though. Might hit it with some 100 grit. You know of any really, really good cleaners? There's some gunk in the tight spots I'm having a hard time removing. All the wire brushes I have are bald too haha. That and I always wonder if Contour VCT or ZX2 valve covers would fit the SVT... |

Should use a dremel to grind down the marks
As for cleaners, I only tried Solder Seals Engine Brite degreaser. Took all the grease and crap out of all the nooks and crannies (had to use quite a generous amount to get the job done though). I'm sure any degreaser+wire brush would be your best bet

I forgot about using a dremel... and there's one in my room right now! Also with a wire wheel attachment.
I'm gonna have fun sanding that valve cover. By the spark plug area it's really tight. |

![]() ![]() It's really hard to capture the true color with my camera or phone. Trust me, the color is a lot nicer in person.

Well done! I've Always wanted to paint some misc. parts on my car black (front calipers, rear drum) but the auto stores here seem to always be out of black enamel paint.
Do you think the headlamp levelling motors would work with our euro switches with some extra wiring? Does the TIS manual show the wiring for the levelers?
