I've never seen the inside of an airline cockpit before lol.

I actually made one for my friends car today. Just as blinding as mine is hahaha.

Well old school aircraft used red cockpit lighting, something to do with pupils being less sensitive to red light at night or something

First project for 2010 COMPLETE: European lockset

Look how much of a PITA it was to get the old tumbler out. You need to grind down the rib on the cylinder to remove a pin that holds the damn thing firmly to the striker unit!

Sorry Cy forgot to tell you I sold my old locks. BTW is your trunk lock on the bottom-center of your trunklid, or more towards the middle/right? I just found out the hatchback tumbler from my old set may in fact fit older sedans with the trunk keyhole in the middle/right position

= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =

Today I received my replacement headlamp ballast, and my European fuel door!

Too bad I couldn't find one in white :(

Next up on my waiting list: European HVAC controls, and of course the European headlamp switch!

oh and btw I won the door on eBay UK for 0.99 ($1.60 USD) haha! Postage came out to 15.99 ($24.57 USD) so in the end it was still pretty cheap

Looks like you're off to a good start this year!

And my keyhole is under the plate in the middle, just like yours is. I do find it strange that some have the keylock on the passenger side. I think I only saw those on LX's though, they were where the badge would be I think.

Sometime this week I'm gonna make my LED third brakelight. Gonna be using the rest of my LED's from my domelight.

Mines is a badgeless LX haha. I guess Ford did away with the LX emblems in the '04 model year. Either that or the rental company that used to own my car debadged it. I too don't understand why they made two locations for the keyhole

Are you making a custom board for the LED 3rd brake? I wanna upgrade my 3rd brake too...I think the LED's that came with mine are kinda weak (no offense to Nacron if he's reading this!)

Yeah I have to make a custom board for mine. The brake light area is 8 inches long, and 20mm tall. The board I have are 4x6 so I have to cut them and glue them, but I was probably gonna use a little silicon to glue the board into the black plastic and solder the wires to the copper leads, so that way I can use the stock plug.

I didn't know yours was an LX. I thought yours was a SE with an SPI. I take it you swapped in the power windows then lol.

yup my car was purchased as a bone stock no frills Focus with a frickin' cassette player! WHO the hell listens to cassettes in 2004!?! I'm probably just being ignorant but I still ? why Ford decided to use tape players in a post-2000 car

Post a pic of your 3rd brake all lit up when it's finished! Are you gonna follow the same bulb pattern as the oem 3rd brake, or are you adding/reducing the amount of LED's?

Well at least with the cassette player you could use one of those adapter things and plug in your CD player or iPod. I saw one with just a radio, and it looked downright sad to say the least.

And you bet I'll take some pics lol. The stock light uses 5 194 style bulbs, I was gonna put in 16 Superflux. I figure that I wouldn't get the dot look with the leds anyway since the lens is fluted, so I should make the entire third brakelight light up hella bright hahaha.
