help. powder coat comming off on engine cover

Has this happen to anyone? the powder coat on the cover is bubbling and comming off.. its strange .. idk why it started to do this...

i know i cant fix it unless i re paint it. and to do it costs too much...
idk it just pisses me off :x

Thats powder coated? Where did you get it done? Take it back it shouldn't do that.

That's very weird. Have you modified the cover or is that how it came?!

An untouched cover I wouldn't think would do that... it must have been refinished. My suggestion is rip it all off, sand/whatever. Then buy a can or two of engine enamel/BBQ paint (in the rattle can) and prime and paint with that stuff that's good up to 500 or 800 or they even have it for like 1200 degrees! I don't think you'd need that high, but even places like AutoZone sell rattle can Duplicolor I think, Engine Enamel. I'd try getting a smooth surface and just go with that, with proper prep.

yeah i was thinking of that... no i didnt ever modify it... i noticed it this month... the only thing went there was oil.. b/c my idiot friend spilt oil on my engine so maybe it caused it to bubble? idk... but it was liek that b4 .. but its getting bigger every time i look at...
so the engine enamel i was thinking something like that... but it will be smooth right? is there a pait that is rough to match how it was?

There might be "textured" looking paints, like those "Metalcast" types and stuff like that?
