Talking Comp Stage 3 installed!!!!!!!!!

Hey there all,
I installed my comp stage 3's today and played around with cam sprockets to get the as* dyno to read good But I need to go in and re-check valve clearences cause I have a little too much noise. Anyway had to show an Integra what was up and called it good. All I need now is the SCT Chip to get programmed and get the cams tunned on a real dyno I'm hopping after all that to get at least 150-160 whp, does that sound close with all mods???

Just let you all know what I thought about cams.

Don't know much about the Comp Stage 3's. You may get to 150 whp, what would help a lot to make that goal is udps and maybe a ported 2000 intake manifold. But I think you should deffinatley be close to 150 if not at 150 as long as you don't have an automatic.

yeah ported to match intake manifold, early 2000 or fr, maybe a larger tb, and you might see 150.

I got 150 on 2's with the 02 intake, so it's possible. Looks like you're well on your way with the mods, good luck. post up your dyno results

hmm.so lots of noise coming from the engine bay might be a clearance problem..ive had a buzzing noise coming from my engine bay ever since i got mine installed (frIIs) but they said it was coming from the esslinger cam gears...hmm, what other simptoms would i have?

how do those stg. 3's behave on the street ? I'm looking into comp. stg. 2's.
3's seem kinda big, where does your car start pulling hard ( accelerating )??
I'm looking for mostly mid- range for autocrossing.
glad ya like your cams, just wait till you get them tuned for real & an sct chip.

i put these cams on my car for a bit and had no problems. I had the sound checked out on my car by a master mechanic and its the valves shutting faster. Since it has an increased duration the springs are going under more pressure and comming closer together so when the lift moves the valve slaps shut faster and a little harder. Its just louder now and u can hear it.

focusedaddiction: They act just fine with cam gears at "zero", car idles normally stages 3 only have .381 lift so idle shouldn't be too bad. Power wise, it feels like it's going to be a 3,000 rpm plus power band after tunning. So stage 2's might be better for mid range.

Everyone else: Well I do plan on getting a Ford racing p/p head and SVT intake manifold and T/B and crower valve springs so I can really open the rpm's up to about 8,000 or so depending on where the head/cams/manifold all start to give up, could be higher could be lower???

My valve noise is because I checked clearences when almost cold so I need to let it cool all the way down and then adjust, I believe it's the exhaust valves being a little "loose" so they are making a "clicking/clattering" type noise. it's not really loud or anything, just need to recheck for sure
